Coachella Youth Golf FAQ's
What is Coachella Youth Golf?
Founded in 2021, Coachella Youth Golf is a community based non-profit organization focused on providing competitive playing opportunities throughout the Coachella Valley. We welcome boys and girls of all skill levels in middle school and high school who have a passion to compete and grow through the game of golf. We offer local and affordable opportunities at some of the best clubs and courses in the Coachella Valley aimed to increase participation, proficiency, and enjoyment of the game.
When are Coachella Youth Golf events?
We are currently offering one event per week throughout the summer (except 4th of July week). Events are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
What is included in a Coachella Youth Golf Membership?

Do I have to join Coachella Youth Golf to play in the events?
No, you do not. There is a CYG non-member event reservation request form available. All non-member event reservation requests will be fulfilled and communicated on a space available basis the Friday preceding the requested event at $135 per event.
When are tee times and what are field sizes typically?
Tee times are adjusted weekly based on the needs of the host club/course but are typically between 7am and 10am. Our goal is to get as much play completed before the heat of the day. There is a field size limit of 60 players maximum, however, there are some weeks it is smaller based on the host club/course circumstances.
What are the age divisions, format, and course setup?
CYG offers the following divisions, format, and course setup:

High School Boys/ Class of 2022 – 2026/ 36 Holes Stroke Play/ 6200-6600 yards

High School Girls/ Class of 2022 – 2026/ 36 Holes Stroke Play/ 5200-5800 yards

Middle School Boys/ Class of 2027 – 2029/ 18 Holes Stroke Play/ 2400-2800 yards

Middle School Girls/ Class of 2027 – 2029/ 18 Holes Stroke Play/ 2200-2600 yards
Players are permitted to “Play Up” in divisions if they desire with CYG Staff approval
Are players able to use golf carts?
Yes, all players will have use of a golf cart. Players with a valid drivers’ license may operate the golf cart. Parents can drive players without a valid drivers’ license and should coordinate with CYG Staff prior to play.
What is included in the entry fee?

Are spectators allowed?
Spectators are allowed (unless specific host clubs/courses have a conflicting policy) and encouraged. We do enforce a no advice and dress code expectation that is detailed in the tournament information.
